Dr. Syed Kashif Haleem Biography
Dr. Kashif Haleem earned his doctorate from Department of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation, University of Leicester, UK. After completing his Doctorate in 2012, he joined Department of Microbiology and was promoted as Assistant Professor in 2016 and Associate Professor in 2022. He served as the Head of Microbiology Department between 2018-2021. Microbiology and Immunology are major areas of his research. Currently, he is focusing his research on various molecular aspects of the interaction of host immune system against different infectious microorganisms with the emphasis on complement system in fighting these pathogens, aiming to investigate the potential of several complement components as therapeutics. He is executing one NRPU project worth 5.2 Million, investigating the complement driven immune responses against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In addition to above-mentioned areas, he have also conducted research in Veterinary Microbiology, Environmental Microbiology and Nanoparticles.
