The M.Phil/PhD program was started in 2005-6. Chemistry is one of the important subjects of basic sciences that deal with the study of composition and properties of matter. It is the science that is poised strategically between biological sciences and physical sciences. The study of chemistry is central to the understanding of key processes applied in various industries such as cement, ceramics, dyes, leather, fine chemicals, plastics etc. The structure of molecules and their chemical reaction with different chemical substances has led to a revolution in the field of medicine as well. Different techniques such as MRI play an important role in diagnosing malignant tissues in human body. Once thought incurable diseases have now become curable because of the vast application of chemistry in biological science. A degree in Chemistry unlocks a wide range of exciting career opportunities, especially in research and development of institutions, industry and...
